We are very happy to announce that we are to publish two of Ben Jeapes finest works, “His Majesty’s Starship”, and “Jeapes Japes”.

“His Majesty’s Starship”, described by SFX Magazine as “A veritable fount of plot, characterisation and intrigue, with some astoundingly original ideas”, details humanity’s encounter with the ‘Rusties’ – an advanced race of quadrupeds who want to share a world with us, called the Roving. Every human nation is invited to send a delegate to the new planet to submit a bid on joint rulership – and the Captain and crew of the HMSS Ark Royal are sent to represent the now geographically non-existent United Kingdom.

Surrounded by aliens, allies, enemies, genocidal maniacs and incompetents, Commander Michael Gilmore and his crew must do what they can to survive and to maintain whatever honour can be found in cold space.

“Jeapes Japes”, a collection of eighteen short stories, deals with advanced AI, time-travel, familiars, genetic manipulation, and door to door salesmen and women of the future. The stories originally appeared in Interzone, Decalog, Substance, Fantasy and Science Fiction, Altair, Odyssey, and Aboriginal SF.

Both books are to be published as paperbacks under our Monico Imprint.
